Zamfara renovates 147 primary health care in rural areas
Lawal Muhammad Liman made the disclosure in Gusau at the opening ceremony of the 5th annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Zamfara state chapter.
Liman who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Dr Habibu Yelwa said one of the top most priority of the governor Abdul’Aziz Yari Abubakar led administration is to make health care available and affordable to the people.
The health commissioner added that as part of its commitment to the improvement of the health sector, after having renovated all the of General hospitals in the state and also expanding Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital Gusau.
He said the state government had spent six year without polio virus in the state due to the adequate attention given to immunization activities in the state.
He commended the NMA for supporting the state’s government health care programmes and assured to continue to partner with all stakeholders to in promoting health care services in the state.
He thanked the development partners who have been supporting the state in the areas of health care delivery.
Earlier, the state Chairman NMA Dr Ologunde Kehinde Williams commended the state government over recent recruitment of doctors and health workers in to health sector of the state and construction and renovation of hospitals.
Williams called for the improvement of the general welfare of health workers in the state.
He appealed for a strong partnership by all stakeholders in the state to join hand and work together in addressing health challenges issues, saying that the NMA was ever ready to partner with government at all levels to render health services to citizens of the state.
