Honourable Gudaji Kazaure, a member of Nigeria’s House of Representatives representing Kazaure/Roni/Gwiwa/Yankwashi Constituency of Katsina state was captured in a video clip in which he said forcing a Muslim to do family planning is forcing him to violate his religion.



The honourable member of the House says there’s no planning in Islam. "Prophet Mohammed says marry and have children so that I can be proud of you in the day of judgement.

The Country Director, Jhpiego Nigeria, Prof. Emmanuel Otolorin, has described family planning as the key to the solution to maternal and infant mortality.


Speaking at a media chat organized by Mamaye, an NGO, in Abuja, yesterday, he said family planning alone could stop 40% of maternal mortality in the country, adding that Nigeria contributes 40,000 of global maternal deaths annually.
