36% contraceptive prevalence ‘achievable’

Nigeria is committed to achieving the 36 per cent target in Family Planning (FP) Contraceptive Prevalence by 2018, Director and Head of Reproductive Health Division, Federal Ministry of Health, Dr. Kayode Afolabi, has said.
 
Dr Afolabi, who disclosed this in Abuja at the FP Watch final dissemination event, said notwithstanding this year’s  prevalence rate of 16 per cent, the 2018 target of 36 per cent is achievable as Nigeria forms part of the global movement on Family Planning-FP 2020.
 

Family Planning: FP2020 to host journalists on reproductive health

Ahead of the launch of “Momentum at the Midpoint 2015-2016’’, the Family Planning 2020’s (FP2020) has announced a telephone news conference on Nov. 1, to highlight the event.

 

The facilitators of the event, FP2020, said this in an invitation e-mailed to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Abuja.

 

It explained that the briefing was designed to scale up stakeholders awareness on the FP2020 fourth annual progress report.
