FG Committed To Improving Maternal, Child Health – Adewole
The Federal Government is committed to taking giant strides and doing things differently towards improving the health of women and children in Nigeria, the Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, has said.
He stressed that most maternal deaths can be prevented if women have access to appropriate health care in the pregnancy period, during pregnancy, childbirth and immediate post delivery.
According to him, experience has shown that small and affordable measures adapted to the context of each country can significantly reduce the health risks that women face when they become pregnant.
He made this known over the weekend in Abuja at the End of Project Dissemination Meeting on ‘Preventing Maternal Deaths from Unwanted Pregnancy’.
